Great Langdale is rightly famous for its majestic scenery and fabulous hikes, walks and climbs, which is what most visitors to the area come for.
However the area is also rich in wildlife, and with a wide variety of habitat is home to many species of birds, and I have found it a fantastic area for birdwatching and wildlife photography.
This page aims to provide a record of birds and wildlife in the Langdale Valley.

iNaturalist Project
I have set up a Project on iNaturalist.org to capture all bird observations in the Langdale Valley. If you are a regular birdwatcher you may already know of iNaturalist, please feel free to join this Community at https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/birds-of-langdale-valley
If you don’t already use it I highly recommend it as a resource, it allows you to see what species have been spotted and where and when they were seen . All wildlife and fauna can be recorded and it really gives a great picture of what you can expect to see.
